
TEWKSBURY, MA - Gerald A. Proctor, age 79, died peacefully on Monday morning, January 25, at his home, in the loving care of his family, after a courageous four year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Doris M. (Love) Proctor, with whom he had celebrated a 58th wedding anniversary this past August 17th.
He was born in Boston, in May 1936, one of eight children of the late George and Mary (Levandier) Proctor. He had resided in Tewksbury for the past five decades.

Prior to retirement, he worked in the maintenance department at Diamond Crystal Co. in Wilmington.
He was remembered as a “family man” and had dedicated his life to his beloved family.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Jerry Proctor of Derry, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Robert Jewer of Lowell; four grandchildren, Ariel, Stephanie, Alicia, and Mackenzie; a sister, Catherine McCarthy of Pembroke; two brothers, Edward Proctor of Dorchester and Robert Proctor of Nova Scotia; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Proctor of Pembroke and Doris Proctor of Weymouth; and was predeceased by his brothers, Ernest Proctor, Melvin Proctor and Carl Proctor; and sister Lorraine Nelson.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, from 1-4 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury Center. Memorial prayer will be offered Saturday at 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Tewksbury Community Pantry, 999 Whipple Road, Tewksbury, MA 01876 will be appreciated.
