Inside The Secret World Of Orchestras on July 10

Here’s a look at events this week and throughout the month of July at the Tewksbury Public Library.

All events are FREE thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library. (Film screenings are also co-sponsored by the Tewksbury Lions Club.) All events are held in the library’s first-floor, air-conditioned Meeting Room. A book selling and signing will take place after each author event. There is no obligation to purchase a book.

• An Evening with Marjorie Hollman, Author of “Easy Walks In Massachusetts,” Tuesday, July 7, 7-8:30 p.m. - Learn about some of the state’s most beautiful walking trails that are appropriate for the entire family.

• A Book Brunch with Justin Locke, Author of “Real Men Don’t Rehearse,” Wednesday, July 8, 10:30 a.m. to noon - Learn about the secret world of professional orchestras from a former 18-year member of the Boston Pops. Complimentary brunch food provided.

• An Evening with Kevin Comtois, Author of “Troubadours & Troublemakers,” Thursday, July 9, 7-8:30 p.m. - Learn about three of the greatest protest singers of the 20th century – Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan.

• Friday Night Film Screening of “Woman In Gold,” Friday, July 10, 8:30-10:30 p.m. - Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood’s newest DVD releases, “Woman In Gold,” a PG-13 rated drama starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds. Maria Altmann, an octogenarian Jewish refugee, takes on the Austrian government to recover artwork she believes rightfully belongs to her family. Complimentary movie snacks provided.

• Tewksbury Job Seekers Network Meeting, Monday, July 13, 2-3:30 p.m. - Learn how storytelling plays a role in job hunting and how you can understand and communicate your own story in a way that will engage your audience with Arnie Fertig’s presentation, “To Get A Good Job, Tell A Good Story.” Fertig is the CEO of JobHunterCoach.

• An Evening with Lori Day, Author of “Her Next Chapter,” Tuesday, July 14, 7-8:30 p.m. - Learn how to create a successful mother-daughter book club and how it will have a positive effect on members.

• A Book Brunch with “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” Thursday, July 16, 10:30 a.m. to noon - Note the date change. Enjoy a film screening of “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.” Complimentary brunch food provided.

• An Evening with Sharon Kirk, Author of “Method 15/33,” Thursday, July 16, 7-8:30 p.m. - Go inside the writing process with the 2015 National Indie Award winner, who puts a new spin on kidnapping stories.

• Friday Night Film Screening of “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” Friday, July 17, 8:30-10:30 p.m. - Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood’s newest DVD releases, “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” a PG-rated comedy starring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. As the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has only a single remaining vacancy, Sonny pursues his expansionist dream of opening a second hotel. Complimentary movie snacks provided.

• Friday Night Film Screening of “Five Flights Up,” Friday, July 24, 8:30-10:30 p.m. - Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood’s newest DVD releases, “Five Flights Up,” a PG-13-rated drama starring Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman.
