Shawsheen Tech Mourns Loss of Student
The school will be open Tuesday afternoon from 3-6 p.m. for families, students and staff in need following Nicholas Bomboy's death.

The Shawsheen Tech community is grieving the loss of a well-known and respected student who died last week.
Nicholas Bomboy, 17, of Billerica died of injuries he sustained after being shot and injured on June 26 at his home on Andover Road.
Shawsheen Tech will be open on Tuesday, July 7 from 3-6 p.m. to provide support and resources to families, students and staff in need following Bomboy’s death.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of our student Nicholas Bomboy,” says a statement posted to Shawsheen Tech’s website. “Nicholas was a well-known and respected student at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School. We offer our sincere condolences to Nicholas’ family throughout this difficult time.”
On Friday, June 26, at approximately 11:35 a.m., first responders were called to a home on Andover Road and found several individuals present including the victim. Bomboy was transported to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington where he succumbed to injuries just after 1 p.m. on July 4.

At the scene of the shooting, investigators recovered several air soft guns and one high-powered pellet gun, according to Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan.
This incident continues to be an open and active investigation by the Billerica Police Department and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office. This shooting is not considered a random act and the public is not in danger.
