What's Happening at the Tewksbury Public Library This Week
Get inspired by some well known authors and catch a flick. There's some great stuff on tap this week at the Tewksbury Public Library.

Here’s a look at events happening at the Tewksbury Public Library for the week of July 20: (upcoming weeks are also included):
- A Book Brunch with Charlotte Gordon, Author of “Romantic Outlaws” - Wednesday, July 22, 10:30 a.m. to noon: Learn about the extraordinary lives of two female literary icons: Mary Wollstonecraft and her daughter, Mary Shelley. Complimentary brunch food provided.
- An Evening with Wendy Francis, Author of “The Summer of Good Intentions” - Thursday, July 23, 7-8:30 p.m.: Go inside the writing process with the author of one of the summer’s most anticipated beach reads, set in Cape Cod.
- Friday Night Film Screening of “Five Flights Up” - Friday, July 24, 8:30-10:30 p.m.: Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood’s newest DVD releases, “Five Flights Up,” a PG-13-rated drama starring Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman. A long-time married couple who’ve spent their lives together in the same New York apartment become overwhelmed by personal and real estate issues when they plan to move away. Complimentary movie snacks provided.
Week of July 27:
- Tewksbury Job Seekers Network Meeting - Monday, July 27, 2-3:30 p.m.: Learn how to improve your job search and land the job you really want with career coach Clare Harlow. Reexamine your interests and skills – some you may not even realized you have – to find the job that’s the right fit for you.
- An Evening with Linda Brossi Murphy, Author of “F*** Off, Cancer” - Tuesday, July 28, 7-8:30 p.m.: Learn about a Massachusetts woman who successfully beat cancer by turning her fight into “one big party.”
- A Book Brunch with Ianna Hondros-McCarthy, Author of “Stickier Rice, Clearer Purpose” - Wednesday, July 29, 10:30 a.m. to noon: Learn the basics of Buddhism and mindfulness from a local young author who studied the religion in Thailand. Complimentary brunch food provided.
- An Evening with August Cole, Author of “Ghost Fleet: A Novel of the Next World War” - Thursday, July 30, 7-8:30 p.m.: Learn about national security threats and weapons of the future that America, and the world, will one day confront.
- Friday Night Film Screening of “The Longest Ride” - Friday, July 31, 8:30-10:30 p.m.: Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood’s newest DVD releases, “The Longest Ride,” a PG-13-rated romance starring Alan Alda, Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson. The film is based on the Nichols Sparks novel with the same name. After an automobile crash, the lives of a young couple intertwine with a much older man, as he reflects back on a past love. Complimentary movie snacks provided.
All events are free thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library. (Film screenings are also co-sponsored by the Tewksbury Lions Club.) All events are held in the library’s first-floor, air-conditioned Meeting Room. A book selling and signing will take place after each author event. There is no obligation to purchase a book.
