Restaurant representatives have submitted a cleanup and training plan, and officials will reinspect Friday to decide if Mikado can safely reopen to the public.
   

2. Select board chair facing multiples charges - The Martha's Vineyard Times (mvtimes.com) — Vineyard Haven readers should know that Tisbury select board chair Christina Colarusso faces multiple criminal charges after an alleged unauthorized entry onto a Steamship Authority freight vessel and a later physical encounter with Tisbury Police on Main Street in Vineyard Haven. Police reports describe concerns about her mental health, an involuntary hospital commitment, and note she has not attended recent select board meetings.
   

3. Island's Steep School Expenses Prompt Regionalization Study (vineyardgazette.com) — If you live in Vineyard Haven, rising education costs at Tisbury School and across Martha’s Vineyard are driving a new push to study regionalizing the Island’s five school districts. Consultants say unifying districts could cut per-pupil expenses, unlock more state transportation reimbursements, and better coordinate teaching standards, with a final report due after another public subcommittee meeting.
   

4. Price tag for new high school at an estimated $333 million (mvtimes.com) — Islanders, including Vineyard Haven taxpayers, are staring at an estimated $333 million price tag to rebuild Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, with a possible $78 million state grant to soften the blow. Tisbury’s share could top $58 million, and an Island-wide funding vote is tentatively set for June as officials push to explain why the aging, problem-plagued building needs replacement.
