An Aerial View Of Wakefield - From 103 Years Ago
From time to time, Wakefield Patch takes a look at interesting items from the town's past spotted for sale on eBay.

It was a little surprising to come across an aerial photo of Wakefield that was from 1911, although who knows - maybe it was taken from a balloon, maybe it was an incredibly early airplane. At this point in history, motorized flight was pretty much less than a decade old as a technology while hot air balloons had been around for more than a century.
Anyhow, the aerial photo (which almost doesn't even look like a photo) focuses on the Warren School on Converse Street in Wakefield, constructed in 1895 and according to this Wikipedia page, added to the National List of Historic Places in 1989.
