Announcing Two Scholarships for Wakefield Seniors

Attention Wakefield graduating seniors in the Class of 2023 of Italian descent - you are invited to apply for a scholarship. Two $1,000 scholarships will be donated by the Lodge in the names of Virginia Horn and Bob Santiano. The application can be downloaded from https://www.osiama.org/scholarships.

While preference is given to family members of the Lodge, if candidates aren’t found, then Wakefield residents of Italian descent from any high school are considered. Students are strongly encouraged to apply, even if they don’t have a connection within the Lodge. By applying, candidates will be considered for other scholarships given by the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts.

The "Fine Print"

• Scholarship Awards are limited to members of the graduating seniors of any secondary school planning to attend an accredited four-year degree granting institution (except for the vocational/technical award to be granted, which may be a two-year degree or certificate.)
• Applications must be mailed to the address indicated and include all five items listed under section “C” of the Scholarship Checklist.
• Applications will not be considered unless all information requested is received in one envelope and postmarked no later than February 14, 2023.

Note: Each year, the Commission must disqualify applications because they are incomplete or postmarked after the deadline.

The Wakefield Lodge does fundraising so they can give back to the community. In addition to scholarships, they donate meals, food for the Pantry, items for the Senior Center, and Christmas gifts for families in need. We are thankful that our charity auction* allowed us to support these worthy causes in 2022.
