Back To School: Wakefield 2025-26 School Calendar

WAKEFIELD, MA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Wakefield, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Wakefield Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year.

The first day of school for most students in Wakefield is Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

• Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day: Oct. 13, schools closed
• Professional development day: Nov. 10, schools closed
• Veterans Day: Nov. 11, schools closed
• Thanksgiving break: Nov. 27 and 28, schools closed
• Winter recess: Dec. 22 to Jan. 2, schools closed
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Jan. 19, schools closed
• February recess: Feb. 16 to 20, schools closed
• Spring recess: April 20 to 24, schools closed
• Memorial Day: May 25, schools closed
• Last day: June 17
