Pedestrian Airlifted To Hospital After Wakefield Crash
Wakefield Police are investigating the crash, which took place near the Wakefield/Reading line.

WAKEFIELD, MA — A crash in Wakefield Friday afternoon sent a pedestrian to the hospital, town police and fire chiefs confirmed Friday night.
The crash, which took place around 5:15 p.m., also prompted a temporary road closure after emergency crews arrived on scene near I-95 at the Wakefield/Reading line.
Wakefield police and fire department chiefs Steven Skory and Michael Sullivan said in a statement that the crash occurred on North Avenue in Wakefield. It involved a vehicle and a pedestrian, officials said.

The driver of the vehicle involved in this crash stayed on the scene, according to officials, while the pedestrian needed to be airlifted to an area trauma center.
The section of North Avenue that closed following this crash had reopened as of an update from Wakefield Police shortly after 7:30 p.m.
