Driver Injured In Wakefield Rollover Crash

A man was transported to the hospital after being extracted from the vehicle.

WAKEFIELD, MA — A man has been hospitalized with serious injuries after his car was involved in a rollover accident, according to the Wakefield Police and Fire Departments.

The single-vehicle incident took place this past Saturday at approximately 6:30 a.m. in the vicinity of 384 Vernon St.

The car was fully flipped over on its roof with the driver still inside. With the help of extrication tools, the driver was removed in about three minutes. He was transported to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.

“This incident is a reminder to all drivers to be extra cautious when operating on roads that are wet and snowy,” Fire Chief Michael Sullivan said.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
