Firebird Pops Orchestra Announces 2025 Summer Season Highlighted by Performance of ZIMMER: The Music of Hans

The Firebird Pops Will Offer Concerts Throughout the Summer, Including Octave of Light and Video Games in Concert

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – June 19, 2025 – The Firebird Pops Orchestra is proud to announce its dynamic and ambitious 2025 summer season, marking the fifth anniversary of the trailblazing New England ensemble that’s formed a reputation for redefining what orchestral music can be. Through boundary-pushing programming and powerful community engagement, the Firebird Pops continues to deliver professional-caliber productions that are as accessible as they are extraordinary.

This summer’s kickoff is ZIMMER: The Music of Hans Zimmer, a cinematic celebration of one of the world’s most iconic film composers. Taking place on June 21 at 8:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium at Galvin Middle School in Wakefield, this blockbuster performance will feature epic scores from The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, Gladiator, and more. The concert will bring together more than 80 instrumentalists and mark the return of the orchestra’s celebrated choir, Firebird Vox, featuring nearly 30 vocalists, to create a sweeping, immersive tribute to Zimmer’s legendary career.

“This is our most ambitious season yet,” said Firebird Pops Founder and Conductor Brendan J. Kenney. “We’re celebrating five years of growth and artistry by doubling down on what makes Firebird unique: bold programming, spectacular multimedia, and a passion for sharing music with the community.”

Equal parts science and imagination, this performance offers an awe-inspiring blend of music, data, and discovery.

Gamers and music lovers alike won’t want to miss Video Games in Concert on August 30 for an immersive musical journey through the most beloved video game scores brought to life with synchronized video and powerful orchestral arrangements. Featuring music from popular games such as Halo, World of Warcraft, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, Skyrim, and more, the concert will be a musical experience like no other.
