Good News For Broadway Crossing: Wakefield Gets $1.2 Million

The crossing at the center of the Quiet Zone saga has received federal money for an improvement project.

WAKEFIELD, MA — The town took a big step toward improving Broadway Crossing last week when it was announced $1.2 million in federal money was secured to assist in improvement project.

The money is part of an estimated $138 million Massachusetts is receiving in Congressionally Directed Spending in the Fiscal Year 2022 spending bill. The funding was requested by Assistant Speaker Congresswoman Katherine Clark.

"I am thrilled to announce that I have secured federal funding for ten Community Projects throughout the Fifth District in this year’s budget package," Clark said. "These investments are a direct response to the needs of our local community."
