WAKEFIELD, MA — Students at Northeastern Metro Tech were dismissed early after something resembling a Molotov cocktail was found thrown into a window Thursday morning.

Superintendent David DiBarri and Wakefield Police Chief Steven Skory said police were investigating the vandalism and attempted arson.

School officials found a broken window and damage to a school conference room when students and staff were arriving Thursday morning. Police were immediately notified.

An investigation indicated a vandal broke the window, damaged the room and threw or broke a glass bottle filled with an unknown substance made to look like a Molotov cocktail.
