Pumpkin Composting Planned In Wakefield
The Wakefield Environmental Sustainability Committee is also running a candy wrapper recycling drive.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Wakefield community members can put their old pumpkins to good use next week with a planned pumpkin composting event.
The event is set for the morning Nov. 9. Community members can leave their pumpkins on designated collection tarps at the Woodville, Dolbeare, Walton and Greenwood schools in Wakefield.
Pumpkins with glitter, googly eyes, candles or wax in them can’t be composted, as noted in a town announcement. Water-based paint is acceptable, though.
