Second Resignation Leaves Opening On Wakefield School Committee
The town is seeking an interim School Committee member until the Town Election in April.
WAKEFIELD, MA — A second resignation has led to an immediate opening on the Wakefield School Committee. The term ends in April 2021, at which point the position will be on the ballot for a two-year term.
The Committee is charged with determining school department policy and budget. It conducts public meetings, which are broadcast on local television, and works with the superintendent to support school programs from available sources at the local, state and federal levels.
Town officials did not say why two School Committee members recently resigned. Those who submitted an application for the first opening do not need to reapply.
