Wakefield Pleasant Street Road Work Delayed Due To Weather

Work has been pushed from its originally scheduled date on Tuesday.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Planned road work on Pleasant Street in Wakefield will wait for at least one extra day after a delay due to weather concerns, the town of Wakefield announced on Monday.

The paving project was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m on Tuesday, impacting Pleasant Street between its intersections with Salem Street and Flanders Lane near Lake Quannapowitt.

The town announced plans on Friday. Forecasts have since developed, though, calling for possible thunderstorms and downpours on Tuesday.

Road work is now scheduled at Pleasant Street for Wednesday, according to the town.

Once it does move forward, work on Pleasant Street is expected to lead to some delays, temporarily blocking driveway access for some area residents as paving machinery moves down the street.

The town on Friday asked residents and commuters to be aware of the work site and adjust their routes if possible.

Residents worried about limited driveway access should utilize side-street parking, the town said.
