TSF Announces a New Fund: Friends of Lake Quannapowitt Fund
FOLQ established a fund at The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield
(Wakefield, MA) – The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, Inc. (TSF) is honored to announce the establishment of the Friends of Lake Quannapowitt Fund as a permanent fund. Beginning in June 2026, a scholarship will be awarded from the Friends of Lake Quannapowitt Fund to a local student pursuing education beyond high school, with a preference for a student studying environmental science.
Friends of Lake Quannapowitt (FOLQ) was founded in 1991 by a group of dedicated citizens who recognized the importance of protecting Lake Quannapowitt and its surrounding lands. Since then, FOLQ has led and supported numerous improvements, including the creation of Gertrude Spaulding Park at the head of the lake and sponsorship of the renovation of Colonel Connelly Park.
FOLQ also sponsors a variety of ongoing programs and initiatives, such as Bricks by the Lake, Doggie Bags for a Cleaner Lake, fishing line recycling, goose control, annual lake cleanups, invasive plant removal, water quality testing, and watershed field trips for students at Wakefield’s Galvin Middle School.

Contributions to the Friends of Lake Quannapowitt Fund are encouraged to help this fund grow and provide increased awards. Donations can be made to TSF of Wakefield, P.O. Box 321, Wakefield, MA 01880. Online donations can be made by visiting www.TSFofWakefield.org/donate. Please include the name of the fund with your donation, either on the check memo line or by adding a message/fund name with your online donation.
