Wakefield Food Pantry Welcomes the Newest Little Free Pantry on Spring Street in Greenwood

The Wakefield Food Pantry (WFP) is excited to announce the newest addition to Wakefield’s Little Free Pantries (LFPs) which is located on Spring Street in Greenwood. Our LFPs motto is “Give what you can; Take what you need,” and we depend on the community to keep the LFPs stocked.

“We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the Wakefield Girl Scouts for building and Kristen Weekly and Tony Del Signore for opening their hearts and home to our newest Little Free Pantry at 54 Spring Street,” said Maureen Miller, Executive Director of the WFP. “We're grateful for their generosity. What an incredible act of community!”

Food is always available at a LFP, easily and without judgment. The LFPs are a great safety net in the battle against food insecurity and are available year-round, 24/7. The LFP program relies on the Wakefield community to stock the little pantries with nutritious, non-perishable foods. Please feel free to stock any and all LFPs at any time.

The LFP program began in 2023 with the help from the Scouts of Wakefield. Since then, the number of LFP sites has grown to 6 in areas located around the town.

1. First Baptist Church of Wakefield, 70 Common Street.
2. Wakefield Town Hall, 1 Lafayette Street.
3. Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 8 Grove Street, back parking lot.
4. Wakefield Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon Street, left side.
5. First Parish Congregational Church, Lake Ave.
6. NEW: 54 Spring Street in the Greenwood section of Wakefield.
