Wakefield Groups Host Town Common, Galvin Field Cleanup Friday

The cleanup events are part of larger plans for Veterans Day this year in Wakefield.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Wakefield community members will have a chance to help clean up local public facilities while benefiting veterans causes on Friday via the Wakefield Youth Council and a series of other organizing groups.

A community cleanup is scheduled on Friday at 2 p.m. at both the Town Common and the fields and courts on the grounds of Wakefield's Galvin Middle School.

The Youth Council, which is helping lead these cleanups, promoted plans on Tuesday. Organizers said $2 will be donated to the Wakefield Veterans Relief Fund for every pound of trash collected.
