Wakefield Man Enters Plea In Large-Scale Meth-Dealing Case, Prosecutors Say

A Wakefield man is accused of being part of a methamphetamine-trafficking ring tied to a motorcycle club, federal prosecutors say.

WAKEFIELD, MA — A Wakefield man has pleaded guilty to drug-dealing charges, according to a statement from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.

Daniel Loughman, aka “Swiss,” 40, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams and more of methamphetamine and one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams and more of methamphetamine.

He is scheduled for sentencing March 10. He will face between 10 years and life in prison.

Loughman was one of four charged in connection with a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking ring operating in Eastern Massachusetts by members and associates of the Unknown Bikers Motorcycle Club, prosecutors said.

Law enforcement received information about drug trafficking in Eastern Massachusetts in October 2023. Investigators identified Loughman as a drug dealer and conducted controlled purchases of methamphetamine from him and others, according to the statement.

About 10 lbs. of methamphetamine and four guns were seized during an investigation into the drug-trafficking ring.
