Wakefield Paving Project Begins This Week

WAKEFIELD, MA — Lazaro Paving Corporation will begin roadwork on Broadway this week from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The road will be open to through traffic as much as possible, though detours may be necessary during certain phases of work, according to the town.

The town advised drivers to "keep this in mind if your commute brings you through the area."

Broadway has been selected for the town’s annual roadway paving bid for 2023. The road will receive full-depth reclamation treatment which involves pulverizing, compacting, regrading, and repaving the existing roadway.

Additionally, the project will include installing new ADA curb ramps at all intersections, upgrades to sidewalks, loam and seeding grass strips, flashing crossing beacons, curb bump-outs, and repainting crosswalks.
