Water Main Break Hits Wakefield Neighborhood
Part of Green Street was closed as of around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday as crews work to make repairs, according to the town.
WAKEFIELD, MA — A water main break in Wakefield Tuesday morning impacted water service in a portion of town near Crystal Lake south of the town center area, the town announced.
Officials shared word of the incident around 8:30 a.m., reporting a water main break at the intersection of Green Street and Dillaway Street.
Crews were on scene as of the town’s announcement working to make repairs, the town said.

In the meantime, the town said, area residents may be partially or completely without water service.
Green Street was closed between Main Street and Sherman Road as of around 8:30 a.m., according to the town.

“Wakefield Public Works will do everything possible to expedite this repair and minimize any inconvenience,” the town said.
Residents can expect possible water discoloration once water service resumed, the town warned. Those with discolored water can run their cold water to clear the issue.
