Wakefield Water Main Work Delayed, Will Be Rescheduled
The work was previously scheduled to continue through Thursday night.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Overnight water main work around the intersection of Lowell and Salem streets in Wakefield will not go on as planned, at least for the time being, due to a "schedule delay," the town said on Wednesday afternoon.
Work began on Tuesday night and was scheduled to continue in Wakefield through Wednesday and Thursday night this week, causing temporary suspension of water service in some locations.
The town shared an announcement about the project around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, roughly an hour before work was set to begin at Lowell and Salem streets. Crews were scheduled to wrap up water main replacement tasks for the night around 4 a.m.
