1. More Rain Possible Today

According to the National Weather Service, Friday calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

At night, look for scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

2. Bird Park Family Movie Night Presents Disney’s “Cars 2”

On Friday August 3, the Friends of Francis William Bird Park will be hosting a FREE showing of the Disney/Pixar film “Cars 2” under the stars in Bird Park. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and get ready to experience the movies like never before. The event is from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and FREE popcorn and drinks for the kids will be available. The movie will be shown in the grass field located next to the “Willow Pond.”  Parking will be at the Union Congregational Church parking lot and on Rhoades Ave. The Trustees of Reservations and Victory Assembly of God in Sharon are sponsoring the event.

4. Storytime at Barnes and Noble

Barnes & Noble at the Walpole Mall will be hosting a children's storytime at 10:30 a.m. The book The Duckling Gets a Cookie!? will be read aloud.

The band Cuzin' Eddy will be providing the tunes at the British Beer Company on Route 1 in Walpole tonight.
