From Walpole to London: Late Night Correspondence

This blog is written by Walpole native Chris Lotsbom, a college student who will be interning with NBC in London at the Summer Olympic Games. Chris will be checking-in with Walpole Patch periodically to share his experiences at the Games.

And Day One of track and field competition is in the books! What a great day of action here in the Olympic Stadium highlighted by hometown hero Jessica Ennis in the heptathlon, who drew raucous cheers from the Great Britain crowd.

The applause for Ennis and the other Team GB athletes reached the television production compound just outside the stadium, where I spent time logging footage of the field events. What is cool about the compound are all of the monitors in front of you, giving multiple angles to view the action by.

From here on out my blogs will be brief, for work has picked up now that athletics are underway. Writing this at 2:00am, I have to be up by 6 in the morning!

p.s. Here is a cool pic I took outside the Stadium just after the evening session concluded. Also, here is a glimpse of the inside of the Olympic Stadium.
