UPDATED: Motorcyclist Struck by Truck on Main Street in Fair Condition

A 65-year-old Plainville man is in fair condition at Boston Medical Center.

Update (12:25 p.m.): Lawrence Kneeland is currently in fair condition as of 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at Boston Medical Center in Boston, according to a hospital spokesperson.

A 65-year-old man is facing life threatening injuries after being struck by a truck while on a motorcycle in Walpole Monday afternoon.

Lawrence Kneeland, of Plainville, was taken to Norwood Hospital after sustaining injuries from an accident at the corner of Main Street and Winter Street at 2:01 p.m. Monday.

"It appears the [pick-up truck] turned left into the [motorcycle], however as this accident is under investigation no other information will be released and no conclusions have been made," Walpole Police Chief Richard Stillman said in an email.

The operator of the 1988 Chevy pick-up truck, Michael Perkins, 30, of Franklin, was not injured, according to Stillman.

Emergency responders initially wanted to take Kneeland to a Boston hospital via medical helicopter, but he instead was taken to Norwood Hospital because of time constrictions with the MedFlight response.

Kneeland was later taken transferred to Boston Medical Center in Boston where he is in fair condition as of Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., according to a hospital spokesperson.
