Potter's Place Announces Fall Schedule
Potter's Place is a not-for-profit, all-volunteer pottery cooperative and school in Walpole.
, a not-for-profit, all-volunteer pottery cooperative and school located at 127B Old West Street in Walpole, has announced its Fall 2012 - Session 1 class schedule.
Adult Pottery Classes at Potters Place in Walpole:
Learn the basics of handbuilding and wheel throwing, with an opportunity to explore more advanced techniques. All classes are for beginners through advanced, unless noted below. Each class meets for 3 hours once a week starting September 5. If registered by 8/27, the fee is $200 plus firing fees for 6 week classes and $265 plus firing fees for 8 week classes (there will be a $15 late registration fee for classes booked after the August 27 deadline). A pottery tool kit is required for all classes and may be purchased at the studio for $14.

Morning Adult classes:

Wednesdays- 10am-1pm (September 12 through October 17 for 6 weeks); or
Thursdays- 10am-1pm (September 13 through October 18 for 6 weeks).
Instructor: Susan Brum (Intermediate/Advanced students):
Mondays- 9am-12pm (September 17 through October 29 for 6 weeks – no class October 8).
Tuesdays- 9am-12pm (September 18 through October 23 for 6 weeks).
Evening Adult classes:
Mondays- 6:30–9:30pm (with Gay Calo starting September 10 through October 15 for 6 weeks).
Wednesdays- 7pm-10pm (with Henriette Dresens starting September 5 through October 24 for 8 weeks).
Pottery Classes for Kids and Teens at Potters Place in Walpole:
Afternoon Children’s classes: 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Wednesdays- September 12 through October 17
Thursdays- September 13 through October 18.
Classes are for students First grade and above. Encourage your children to explore their artistic capabilities while getting their hands dirty! Learn basic techniques of coiling, pinching and building with slabs. Some wheel work included. Classes meet for 6 weeks and are led by Lizanne Donegan. Cost is $135 if paid by August 27th and includes materials and firings (there will be a $15 late registration fee for classes booked after the August 27th deadline).
Afternoon Teen classes: 3:30–5:15 pm
Mondays- September 10 through October 15 – no class October 8.
For students in sixth grade and above. Lizanne Donegan will instruct students to explore the wheel and teach hand building skills. This class is geared toward students who want to go to the next level of creativity and craftsmanship. The fee is $125 for 5 weeks if paid by August 27 and includes materials (there will be a $15 late registration fee for classes booked after the August 27 deadline). Firing fees are extra. A pottery tool kit is required for all classes and may be purchased at the studio for $14.
