UPDATED: Walpole Fire Leaves $100K in Damage to East Street Home
The fire was reported in a second-floor bedroom at 531 East St.

UPDATED: A fire destroyed a second-floor bedroom at a single-family home at 531 East St. Sunday, according to the Walpole Fire Department.
The fire was reported by the homeowner's son, who was at home at the time but got out safely, said Walpole Fire Capt. Paul Carter.
The fire resulted in about $100,000 in damage, he estimated. The second floor had water damage. The entire house had smoke damage.
The fire was reported about 12:48 p.m. Sunday. The cause remains under investigation.
