Walpole's Chris Lotsbom to Intern With NBC Sports at 2012 Summer Olympics
Lotsbom will be among 35 students from Ithica College to intern at the London Games this summer.

The following is a release from Ithica College.
Walpole resident Chris Lotsbom has been selected by NBC Sports to intern at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. A senior majoring in sport media at Ithaca College, Lotsbom is among 35 students from the college who will be serving an essential behind-the-scenes role at the world’s biggest athletic event, taking place July 27–August 12.
Ithaca is one of only a handful of colleges and universities nationwide with which NBC partners to recruit interns for its Olympics coverage. Lotsbom is the only Ithaca student from the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance chosen for an internship; the rest are from the Roy H. Park School of Communications and the School of Music.

Half of the students will be traveling to London for their intern assignments, with the rest based at NBC’s 30 Rock headquarters in New York City. Some will be working at specific events, including basketball, gymnastics and swimming. Others will handle tasks such as reviewing video for what’s known as the Highlights Factory, which the network developed to package and distribute coverage through multiple media platforms.
Lotsbom has been assigned to assist with NBC’s coverage of the track and field competition at Olympic Stadium in London.
