Your Guide: 40th Annual Labor Day Road Race on Monday

The 40th annual Walpole Labor Day Road Race will take place on Monday, Sept. 2, leaving Walpole High School at 10 a.m.

The event will feature the Herb Lewis Memorial and John D. Murphy & Co. 10K Race, as well as the "Walpole Ed" 5K Race/Walk. 

"The races (5K and 10K) have attracted over 700 runners for the past few years and we continue to grow," said race co-director Kevin Butera. "The race itself is a great town tradition and is among the oldest road races in the area."

The funds raised for the race support the Walpole boys' and girls' cross country and track & field teams throughout the whole year.

Race Details

What: Walpole Labor Day Road Race (5K and 10K)
When: Labor Day 2013, Monday, Sept. 2 
Time: 8:30 a.m. registration begins; 10 a.m. 5k start; 10k to start immediately thereafter
Cost: $25 to pre-register at walpoleroadrace.org, $30 day of race.
Note: The first 400 registrants get a race t-shirt and there will be an award ceremony post race.
