Bentley Golfers Earn PING All-Region Honors

WALTHAM, MA — Bentley University placed a Northeast-10 Conference-high two players on the 2024 Division II PING All-East Region team with senior Timothy Picard (Dracut/Lowell Catholic HS) and junior Evan Desjardins (Salem, N.H./Salem HS) earning the recognition from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Desjardins tied for ninth in last week’s NCAA Division II Atlantic-East Region with a six-over 219 (78-69-74) during the three-day tournament. He missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships by only two strokes.

Following the best tournament showing of his collegiate career, Desjardins finished the season with a 74.9 stroke average. He was the team’s top performer in each of the team’s four spring competitions.

Picard, one of the team’s co-captains, led Bentley in rounds played (21) and rounds in the 70s (18). His stroke average was 75.5 and he was Bentley’s top golfer in the Northeast-10 Championships last fall, finishing tenth with a 78-73-70-221.

A 2023 GCAA All-America Scholar, Picard improved on his 2022-23 stroke average by 1.4 per round.
