Bentley Hoops Stars Still Garnering Awards

Two Bentley basketball standouts, and the team as a whole, earned academic honors from the 2023-2024 season.

WALTHAM, MA — Two members of the 2023-24 Bentley University men's basketball team, Kellan Bochenek (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont HS) and Ivan Misic (Toronto, Ont./Cape Fear Academy (N.C.), were named to the NABC Honors Court by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for attaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better.

Bochenek, who received his Master of Science in Finance in May, was third on the team in scoring with his 12.6 per-game average a career-best. His 91 three-pointers this past season was the second most in program history, and his .446 three-point accuracy was second best in the Northeast-10.

Misic, who will be returning this coming season as a graduate student for his final year of eligibility, gave the Falcons 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds a game in his first season as a starter. The quantitative economics major graduated Magna Cum Laude in May.

Bochenek made his third straight appearance on the NABC Honors Court, and Misic was recognized for the second time.

Bentley also received a Team Academic Excellence Award from the NABC for the 10th time in 11 years. Those are presented for compiling a team GPA of 3.0 or better.

Bentley finished the season with a 19-11 record.
