Charges Pending In 'Non-Credible' Waltham School Threat
Police said a juvenile student was the source of the threat, but there isn't evidence of a planned shooting.

WALTHAM, MA — The online threat that added police patrols and banned backpacks at Waltham Public Schools on Monday was deemed "non-credible," police said.
Waltham police have been investigating an online threat directed at McDevitt Middle School over the past weekend.
Police said they identified the source of the threat as a juvenile student from Waltham, but the threat wasn't found to be credible, police said.

"There is no evidence of a shooting being planned or attempted. The investigation is still active and charges are pending," police said.
Increased patrols around all Waltham schools will continue throughout the rest of the week "as a precaution and to provide a presence."
