Colleen Bradley-MacArthur Declares Run For Waltham City Council
Every two years, the entire 15-member council is up for reelection. In 2019, Bradley-MacArthur came in 565 votes short of landing a seat.

WALTHAM, MA — Colleen Bradley-MacArthur is planning to run again for city council in November, she said Tuesday.
"I’m running for Waltham City Council because we deserve a Waltham that works together, solves complex problems, and plans for the future," said Bradley-MacArthur. "Waltham residents deserve to be safe and healthy, have elected officials that are accountable to them, and be able to afford to remain in the city that we love and call home."
Every two years, the entire 15-member council is up for reelection. It's still early days, as the election season doesn't generally start officially until nomination papers available from the city clerk's office. This year, that's May 3. Candidates must fill those out with 50 signatures from residents and return them to the clerk's office by June 25.

Bradley-MacArthur and her husband, Tim, have been living in Waltham for more than a decade, much of that time renting. In 2015, they bought a home in Lakeview, where they are raising their 9-year-old son, Bennett.

“My husband and I had to make big sacrifices, saving for years, to buy our home,” she Bradley-MacArthur said. “Waltham is being constantly short-changed by out-of-town developers who come to build, but don’t invest long-term in our schools, parks, and infrastructure. We need city councilors who demand that they put Waltham over profits and give back to our community. I will be that Councilor."
Bradley-MacArthur is a co-coordinator of Mothers Out Front Waltham. She coaches people on public speaking and leadership skills as an Area Director for Toastmasters International. She also volunteers at her son’s school, at Waltham First Parish, with Waltham Mutual Aid, and with Waltham Community Access TV. She got her Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism and Public Information from Emerson College, and she was previously the social media marketing manager at World Congress.
Currently, she runs her own business, providing social media marketing services to small businesses.
