Connors Memorial Swimming Pool Has Reopened In Waltham
Connors Memorial Swimming Pool at the corner of River and Newton streets has reopened. Here's what to know.

WALTHAM, MA -- Connor's Memorial Pool reopened this past weekend with some new rules just in time for the heat. The free, state-run pool near the corner of River and Newton streets opened over the weekend as part of Phase 2 of the state's reopening plan.
According to the CDC, there is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools. Still, officials say not to congregate in groups larger than 10 while at the pool, and when you're near others, wear a mask.
Some other things to be aware of: Visitors have to wear masks outside the water if they can't maintain a 6 foot distance from their neighbors. But you don't have to wear masks in the pool, though you are asked to observe safe distancing there, too. And it won't be packed: The pools is only permitted to open up to 40 percent of capacity.

If you were curious about swimming lessons? Well, those are out, as swimming lessons which would require physical contact are not allowed in this phase. Locker rooms and changing areas are supposed to be closed during this phase, though bathrooms will be open - but you're not permitted to change there, so bring an extra towel.
Like elsewhere, the pool staff will be working to regularly sanitize shared surfaces.
