WALTHAM, MA — Eversource crews are working to repair issues caused by electrical surges in Waltham over the weekend.
On Sunday, workers responded to approximately 30 locations in the city where meters and wiring were damaged after an abnormal voltage issue was caused by an event at the Pine Street and Main Street substations.
The power surges caused transformer fires, produced smoke in buildings, and left multiple traffic signals inoperative. Traffic delays were expected during Monday morning’s commute.
