How Did Waltham Perform on MCAS Tests?

MCAS results were announced last week.

Waltham Public Schools students tested just below the state average in MCAS tests. 

The Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System results were released this week. The tests were taken in the spring. 

English

In English, student tested 19 percent advanced, 47 percent proficient, 23 percent needs improvement and 10 percent failing compared to the state averages of 19, 23, 50 and eight percent respectively.

Math

In Math, students tested 21 percent advanced, 34 percent proficient, 30 percent needs improvement and 15 percent failing compared to the state average of 28, 33, 35 and 14 percent respectively.

Science & Tech

In this subject, student tested 16 percent advanced, 34 percent proficient, 39 percent needs improvement and 11 percent failing compared to the state average of 16, 37, 35 and 12 percent respectively.
