Running For Office? Waltham Nomination Papers Available Soon

Ballot positions for the 2025 municipal elections include councilors at large, school committee members and ward councilors.

WALTHAM, MA — Waltham's municipal election in 2025 isn't until September, but the first steps for those seeking office will be taken in about one week.

Nomination papers for hopeful candidates are available starting on April 30.

Candidates looking to get their papers can visit the City Clerk's Office in City Hall, 610 Main St., Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m starting that day. The last day and hour to file nomination papers for all offices is June 27.

Races that'll appear on the ballot in November include councillors at large (six seats), ward councilors (nine seats) and School Committee members (three seats).

  • Nomination papers available - April 30
  • Last day to file nomination papers - June 27
  • Last day to file Statement of Candidacy - June 18
  • List of Candidates will be posted - July 21
  • Last day to withdraw - July 25
  • Last day to register to vote in Preliminary Election - Aug. 30
  • Preliminary Election - Sept. 9
  • Last day to withdraw - Sept. 15
  • Last day to register to vote in Municipal Election - Oct. 25
  • Municipal Election - Nov. 4
  • Inauguration Day - Jan. 4
