WALTHAM, MA — The Waltham Democratic City Committee will host a panel discussion, "Firearms: Violence & Reform,” on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Government Center.

- Chief Kevin O'Connell of the Waltham Police Department
- Dr. Brian Reagan, Superintendent of Waltham Public Schools• Principal Stephen Duffy, Principal at Plympton Elementary School
- Kristin Bauer, the Massachusetts Co-Lead of Moms Demand Action• Sonya Yee Coleman, a longtime activist for Stop Hand Gun Violence and the Board Chairwomanfor States United to Prevent Gun Violence
"Coming on the heels of another tragic weekend of violence, including shootings at the University of Virginia, this event will bring these panelists together to address the crisis of firearms violence, bringing into context of how our local communities are dealing with the problem,” Watch City Dems said in a statement.
The event format will include opening comments and introductions, a moderated panel discussion, and a Q&A with the audience.
