Waltham Detective Helps Deliver Baby, Again
The baby decided not to wait for the ambulance.

WALTHAM, MA — Early Thursday morning a police officer got the call of a lifetime - for the third time in his career. He was the first to get to the home of a woman who had gone into labor, and while Cataldo Ambulance EMTs were right behind, the baby wasn't waiting.
When Waltham Detective Charles Wentworth got to the home just before 4:30 a.m. and started to help the woman, he saw that the baby wasn't going to wait and the head was crowning. So he got to work helping with the beginning of the birthing process, according to police.
Waltham Firefighters also came over right after assisting a 2-Alarm fire, Acting Lt. Melissa McCarthy, Jim MacDonald, Sean McGowan got there they both helped with the woman and the baby. It wasn't long before Cataldo Ambulance personnel arrived and took over lead roll in helping the birthing process, according to Waltham Police.

Cataldo EMTs then transported both mother and her new baby girl to the hospital.
But here's the kicker: This is not the first baby Wentworth has helped deliver. It's the third time Wentworth has been involved in helping deliver a baby over his career.

It's unclear if any of the babies have been named for him.
