Waltham High School Student Removed After BB Gun Found In Car
An investigation began this week after school officials were notified that a possible weapon was seen in a car on school grounds.

WALTHAM, MA — A Waltham High School student is in hot water with school officials and police after officials found what was determined to be a BB gun in their vehicle.
Waltham police were notified on Wednesday night that "a firearm was possibly seen in a vehicle" on school grounds last week.
School administrators were notified and, on Thursday, officials found the vehicle unoccupied in the high school parking garage.

The car was searched and an item matching the description was found, though it was eventually determined that it was a BB gun, school officials said.
Police removed the vehicle and BB gun from school grounds, and the student was also removed from school, officials said.

Waltham High School was placed into a brief shelter in place during the investigation on Thursday, officials said, but it was determined that there was no specific threat to the school community at large.
