Waltham To Hold Free Recycling & Collection Event Oct. 8

Items for collection include paper for shredding, tires, used bicycles, computers, glasses, clothing, and more.

WALTHAM, MA — The City of Waltham will host a free recycling and collection event on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nipper Maher Park, located at 65 Dartmouth Street.

This event is for Waltham residents only and proof of residency is required, the city said.

Items for collection include paper for shredding, tires, used bicycles, computers, glasses, clothing, and more.

Here is a full list of acceptable items:

  • Paper for shredding - A1 Data Shred will collect 4 file boxes max per resident for shredding
  • Tires (no rims)
  • CFL Bulbs, Tubes (no longer than 4ft.), Button Batteries
  • Used Bicycles - Bikes not Bombs will collect bicycles (no rust, $20 tax-deductible donation per bike to defray cost of shipping overseas). More: bikesnotbombs.org/bike-recycling/
  • Computer Monitors, Laptops & TV's (no computer cords, keyboards, or towers)
  • Eyeglasses - Waltham Lions Club
  • Clothing, linens, small household appliances - CMRK
  • Cell phones in any model or condition - Cell Phones for Soldiers
  • Propane Tanks - Must be empty
  • Scrap Metal
