WALTHAM, MA — The holiday season is ramping up and, locally, there are plenty of ways to get in the spirit this weekend.

The local orchestra will before Beethoven's "Triple Concerto" during the concert on Sunday, which starts at 3 p.m. at Waltham Government Center.

Soloists include Andrew Ho, piano; Ayaan Ahmad, violin; Lazar Kaminsky, cello Dvorak, Symphony No. 6. Tickets cost $20 for adults, while kids 5-17 get in free with a paying adult.

"A Christmas Carol" at Gore Place

Gore Place will host a performance of "A Christmas Carol" within the carriage house on the property, built circa 1793.

"Johnny Kinsman performs an elaborative reading of Dickens's cherished story featuring the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, his spirited encounters with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come, and the heartwarming transformation that follows. The story will come alive with the inimitable musical talents of violinist Justin Ouellet and soprano Ann Moss to enhance the magical experience," a preview of the show said.

The event is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets can be found here.

The Waltham Show Choirs' Christmas Tree Fundraiser and Sale is back in the Kennedy Middle School parking lot this weekend.

Trees can be preordered for delivery to Waltham homes, and other items like wreaths can also be preordered.
