Waltham Moves On To Quarterfinals On WGBH High School Quiz Show

WALTHAM, MA — On the team's debut appearance on WGBH's High School Quiz Show, Waltham High School edged out Brookline in the first round of the quiz. Now Waltham moves on to the quarterfinal.

The episode aired this past Saturday on WGBH 2 when the teams went head to head in the show’s qualifying round – a battle of the brains.

Waltham rang in to answer the penultimate question, Anna answered correctly that "Pygmalion" was a play by George Bernard Shaw about a Cockney flower girl. The last question, how many chambers are in the heart of a fish, went to Brookline, but the team got it wrong. (There are two).

Waltham is set to take on the winner of the Needham or Taunton match next on April 25.

Watch as first-time competitor Waltham High School take on Brookline moving on to the quarterfinals after a very close match. Waltham won by just 35 points.
