Waltham PD Chase, Arrest Armed Man Accused Of Stealing Motorcycle
"Fortunately, this situation ended safely and resulted in officers taking an illegal handgun off of the streets," police said.

WALTHAM, MA — Police said they arrested a man, and confiscated a loaded handgun Sunday after someone called 911 to report a loud gathering on Piedmont Avenue.
"At first glance, this type of disturbance call appears to be quite routine. But, when people introduce the presence of illegal handguns, tragedy can strike at any moment," police said in a statement. "Fortunately, this situation ended safely and resulted in officers taking an illegal handgun off of the streets."
Just after midnight on Sunday June 6, Waltham Police officers were called to 42 Piedmont Ave. When they got here officers said there was a large party with more than 100 people.

In an effort to quell the disturbance, the police broke up the party.
But, the DJ from the party, Karten Robert Louis, 23, of Randolph, started his motorcycle and began revving the engine, "causing a continued disturbance," according to police.

He then took off down the street, speeding prompting officers to follow him. Police said they saw him dump the motorcycle and start running toward a waiting car.
After a struggle, officers placed the man under arrest. Police said they later found a fully loaded handgun with a laser sight in a sling bag.
Both the motorcycle and gun were stolen, according to police.
Louis was charged on a number of felony charges including: carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a high-capacity weapon, receiving stolen property, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, as well as other motor vehicle related offenses, according to police.
"The Waltham Police Department Patrol Division is out answering these calls on a daily basis working hard to keep each and every member of our community safe."
