Waltham Tabs Winners For 2024 Kevin M. Ritcey Award

WALTHAM, MA — The Waltham City Council announced that there will be two winners of the 2024 Kevin M. Ritcey Award for public service.

Jack Cox and Glenna Gelineau are the joint recipients of the award, which the City Council will present at a later date, officials said.

The Waltham City Council established this award in 2016 to honor Ritcey, who officials describe as "one of Waltham’s most dedicated and respected community leaders."

Officials said Cox and Gelineau were nominated by several of their peers as "individuals who have provided extraordinary public service to the City of Waltham [and] our community."

𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝘅

Cox "is a long-standing History Teacher at Waltham High School. He’s set to retire this year after 48 years of commitment to the Waltham public school system. A WHS graduate of the class of 1972, Jack holds a Masters of Arts in secondary education & teaching (History), and a Doctorate of Philosophy. Former students remember him fondly and often recall his extensive knowledge of Waltham & beyond. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy within our school department."

𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗚𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮𝘂

Gelineau "is a lifelong resident of Waltham and is always looking for opportunities to give back to her city. Glenna has served as the past President of the Parmenter Home for Women, the past President and current Board Member of the Waltham Salvation Army, a Board Member for the Middlesex Human Service Agency, past President and Board Member of the Waltham Rotary Club, Board Member of the Leland home of Waltham, an avid Volunteer for the Waltham Senior Center, and a full-time Board Member for the Waltham Zoning Board of Appeals. Glenna is also Broker / Owner of Gelineau & Associates R.E. on Prospect Street. Her commitment and involvement in our city is admirable and we thank her wholeheartedly."
