Waltham's 'Zero Waste Day' Is This Weekend
The Saturday event at Nipper Maher Park will give residents a chance to dispose of certain unwanted items. Here's what to know.
WALTHAM, MA — For Waltham residents hoping to dispose of items like car tires, light bulbs and bicycles, the city is hosting an event they'll be interested in this weekend.
The Waltham Recycling Department is hosting a 'Zero Waste Day' event on Saturday at Nipper Maher Park, 65 Dartmouth St.
The event is only for Waltham residents, and proof of residency is required.

A list of accepted items is included below:
- Paper to be Shredded
- Car Tires (No Rims)
- CFL Bulbs & CFL Tubes (No longer than 8ft)
- Button Batteries (Small mercury devices)
- Bicycles (Used in working condition)
- Computer Monitors, Laptops & TV’s (No Computer cords, keyboards, or towers)
- Glasses for Lions Club Waltham (Prescription Eye Glasses only)
- Cell Phones for Soldiers (Any model of cell phone or condition)
- Scrap Metal
- Textiles for CMRK (Clothing)
Any propane tanks and small household appliances will not be accepted, officials said.
