WALTHAM, MA — A West Nile Virus (WNV) positive mosquito sample was reported in Waltham Thursday, according to the city.

Despite the positive sample, WNV risk in Waltham is still set to low, or unlikely. However, residents are encouraged to use EPA-registered mosquito repellants and avoid peak mosquito activity at duck and dawn.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health will continue enhanced surveillance in Waltham and areas that have reported WNV-positive mosquito samples.
