2023 Arts Wayland Expo Delayed Until Later In Summer

An event postponed during the pandemic will take another short break. The Arts Wayland Expo was set to take place Saturday.

WAYLAND, MA — The Arts Wayland Expo set for Saturday will now take place later this summer due to rain in the forecast, according to organizers.

It's another — much smaller — delay for the festival, which got its start in 2019 when Wayland students Joss O'Heron, Ellie Barenboym and Kyra Spooner — who were then in middle school, but are now in high school — got special permission to ask Town Meeting for approval to produce a music festival. Due to the pandemic, the event wasn't held until May 2022.

The 2023 expo was set to feature a lineup of local and national musicians, performing arts, an arts market — plus food trucks and a Castle Island Brewery beer truck.

"We are disappointed by the weather but thrilled by the excitement in the community for the Expo. We are working on rescheduling the event for later this summer and will make a follow-up announcement with the new date and other details soon," the Arts Wayland Foundation said of the cancelation.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a 70 percent chance of rain on Saturday, with rain continuing through Saturday night.
