Art on Wayland’s Rail Trail

Invitation to Go Out Doors Neighbors

The Wayland Cultural Council is excited to announce Go Out Doors – Neighbors, an art installation on the rail trail and invites you to come take a look. A project initiated by Umbrella Arts in Concord and undertaken in several Metrowest communities, the initiative is intended to inspire exploration of outdoor spaces and the communities connected to them.

Wayland’s installation includes seven painted upcycled doors, two created through a call for art this spring: Jodi Marshall’s Gaia’s Invitation and Xiaofeng Huang’s The Wondrous Door to the Magic of Nature. The other five doors are on loan from ArtScape/Bradford Mill in Concord and include work by Meg Gaudet, Bill McDonough, Susan Muller & Janet Anderson, Ben Schaffner & Ann Sussman, Laura Tilus-Korhonen.

The installation is possible thanks to a generous grant from The Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund and thanks to support from Wayland DPW, Umbrella Arts and ArtScape/Bradford Mills.
